Nobody is reading this I'm sure, except maybe a bored moderator.
I'm basically setting up this blog to link with my other music pages so that i can venture into the deep world of the Internet, and have lots of links that will hopefully all fit together into one mass of shameless self promotion.
I've recently bought some half decent recording kit and I intend to put together some kind of musical portfolio.
I'm not interested in making the big time, I'm just looking to try to find a place in the industry producing music of some kind. Whether that be sound bytes for ad's or score type music for TV or film, or even to write something that someone else can be in the limelight with.
I'm just looking to eventually earn a crust doing something I enjoy and feel passionate about. And I hope i can do a fairly decent job at it. If i can, that will do.
The main limitation to all of this is money and equipment. You'll find if you delve into music production, or I'm sure pretty much any 'serious hobby', things will get real expensive, real quick. And you'll need something else to make it sound 'perfect', and then you'll need something else to make it sound 'perfect', and then etc...
So I'll be making a start with somewhat of a bare minimum. Granted I've spent more money on this 'bare minimum' than I can afford, but I feel I need to be able to produce a fair quality sound before I can grab the attention of anyone remotely interested. There are too many talented musicians and producers around that simply don't get any exposure at all, far more talented than myself. So I intend to present an all but finished product that can, without tons of messing around, remixing and editing, be promoted. Either as a stand alone item, or something that someone might see potential in and be willing to work with.
I'm not convinced with this blogging aspect. But it may prove useful or interesting at some point.
